This fireplace wall in Norwalk, CT, was not-so-affectionately referred to by the homeowners as “The Moose Lodge.” With it’s wood paneling everywhere, it’s not hard to see why! They had a more modern sensibility which was reflected elsewhere in the home, so it was time to bring The Moose Lodge up to snuff. We started by taking off the decorative molding everywhere for a cleaner, more streamlined & modern look, which was further accomplished by getting rid of the paneling grooves along the back wall. After that, the wood and bricks were painted, custom orange wallpaper and custom tile were installed, et voila. The orange helps secure this wall as the focal point in the room, along with providing a healthy pop of color to an otherwise neutral scheme. You can see the before photos here!
